What size monitor?

What is the model number you ended up with?

LG 43UN700-B UHD and HDR.

Probably a new model will be released next week, that is my usual luck.

And only $579 at Walmart. I still remember buying an NEC MultiSync 6FG - CRT monitor - 21" | JC-2141UMA at Computer Discount Warehouse paying $3000 many years ago. Thought I was in hog-heaven. Can’t imagine sitting behind a 43" these days.

Yes, it is amazing how things have changed. I bought a 17" Trinitron tube with my first Windows PC, it was huge and so much higher resolution (1280x1024), compared to the 14" monitors we had at work, or even the Mac Plus/SE monitors. Even the 15" Commodore monitor I had with my Amiga was better than what we had at work!.

Then, my first TFT, again a 17", then a 20.5" widescreen and then 24", each was huge or such a step forward. The 34" ultrawide was sooo big, when I got it, but I had been used to dual screens. After a couple of hours of use, it feels usable. The main thing is, the text is about the same size as the old monitor, maybe a little bigger, so, whilst there is a lot more on the screen, it is still easily readable.

I booted up my Pi 400 with it yesterday, amazing. Shutting back down, it had the log messages in text mode, it kept it in full UHD mode (unlike Windows, which seems to switch to 1280x1024 for booting).
