Using voice commands to have my tablet read my Gmail out loud

I’m planning on buying a Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+. Will I be able to ask it to read my full gmails out loud to me? Without having to touch the device (other than setting up accounts and settings)? Or do I need to buy a Google Pixel tablet?

The reason I’m asking is I bought an Amazon Fire tablet without realizing that the Alexa Voice Assistant is not available in Canada, so I also can’t use the Google Assistant on it. I’m just double checking before I make another purchase.

Gemini is my assistant on my Samsung Tab S7 and Pixel 9a. It works the same on both.

However, I haven’t had much luck getting it to control apps like gmail or keep. It’s a bit hit and miss IME. Sometimes it will read emails or add things to shopping lists. Other times, it gives you a text response. Other times it just doesn’t respond.

Hopefully it will improve.

This whole process is becoming a pain in the neck. I sometimes use an app called Speaking Email. Works on both iOS and Android. That may become my fallback option. I just don’t want to have to pay for the premium features. Guess I’m cheap lol.
