I format my USB Flashdisk using “exFAT.” So I can use it on MacOS, Windows, and GNU/Linux. May I know the advantage of using “NTFS” for a Flash disk? My backups (OVAs and UTMs) are usually more than 4GB.

NTFS and exFAT are probably interchangeable with respect to USB devices. There are numerous very technical details, but for basic file storage, they’re pretty equivalent except for which other operating systems have the native ability to write to it. For your use case, exFAT is probably the best choice.
