The iOS and macOS version of TWiT.tv Player is available for download, any feedback would be appreciated:
@PDelahanty, for what the app is, it looks great. But I could definitely see the issues you described (not being a programmer, I’m really that much help). I agree that if you could sort by date so more recent was on top, it would be better. But, going on how you describe, with seasons, etc, my guess is that the tools you used were not meant exactly to do what you are trying to do. Probably more like publishing a net series where you would watch episode 1, then 2, etc.
However, as they say, its better than nothing and give TWiT an official presence on Roku again. As does the app by @APGSolutionsLLC. My hat is off to both of your for your hard work in developing these apps.
Thank you! It works great, initially it was showing only Search and About but when I got back to it it loaded all the stuff. It also has “Continue Watching” that works for multiple episodes which is exactly what I wanted.
Yes, it shows the show chronologically, but it still plays the most recent one by default which is more important.
I finally heard back from Roku support about the ordering of episodes within a season.
…so at least there’s a feature request in place now.
Thanks very much!! I look forward to trying it out tonight after work.

I’ve noticed that your app has a problem loading 2021 content, I can’t seem to find the TWiG from this year, maybe you just need to create another list for 2021.
Not suggesting you might not have a point about the app @Adrian, but are you also aware of recent issues with ad blockers blocking some of the download tracking that TWiT uses? (I don’t know if the Roku app uses the same or not, but I thought, while you wait to hear from @PDelahanty, I would mention it in case you have a PiHole or some network ad blocking installed that may also cause issues.)
Thanks, I do run a Pi Hole, but I don’t think it’s that, I see 2021 for TWiT but not for TWiG, I will try again after I whitelist those domains (or with Pi Hole disabled to make it a simpler test)
I checked this morning and saw last week’s episode of TWiG listed under TWiG and in the recent episodes.
…but Roku does seem to have a weird habit of caching old data. Sometimes I don’t see new episodes show up until long after the new data has been read by Roku. (My app is a Direct Publisher app that reads a JSON file 4 times a day.)
I see now the 2021 content, issue solved. I was just afraid that there was an issue with reading the 2021 content for some reason (if it was a different feed or slightly different format)
