Leo talked about using AI for War, there is an old Star Trek episode, episode 23 of Season 1, “A Taste of Armageddon.”
They encounter a planet that basically uses AI and simulation to wage war. Mostly to save resources and history from destruction. But to keep it meaningful, they basically have death chambers and if a person is deemed to have “died” to a simulated bomb, they kill that person.
Anyway, the comment made me think of that kind of dark scenario.
But then it also made me think of Robot Jox where giant robots right the wars in 1v1 combar.
A number of Star Trek episodes have verged on the same story about computerized war, weapons, and the dangers of not feeling the true effects of waging war. See also TNG “The Arsenal of Freedom” for “AI self-improving weapons” or TOS “The Ultimate Computer” for a computer trying to replace humans as ship captains as just two the jump to mind.
