I’ll co-sign what Mr Benito mentioned about the Filipino and Chinese short dramas.
When it comes to casting boards of late, you’re guaranteed to see three types of listings and show pitches:
- Reality TV based on damn near ANYTHING. Wife swaps, “i have an unusual hobby but no one wants to hangout with me,” game show challenges etc
- Ads (brands with an idea and needs a cast)
- “Vertical” rom-com or dramatic series.
I dont fit the demo for most of the vertical pitches, but it’s fascinating seeing so many coming up.
