I still don’t get how @Leo can argue that Perplexity’s summaries are the same as visiting a website with.a browser. If you use a browser, you see the site as the author wanted you to experience it, with all the content that they envisaged, with Perplexity, it is just giving you a summary, so I can understand people not being happy with Perplexity summarising sites, when they have explicitly said they do not wish that to happen.

I’m sure you listen to Security Now David, but others here may not, so I thought I would mention that this Perplexity/Cloud Flare spat was the topic of 2025-Aug-12’s Security Now, and Steve and Leo had an initial disagreement about it and talked it out. I still don’t agree fully with Leo’s position though. I think the solution here is a separate indication, like robots.txtthat is specifically for AI assistants… maybe something like HumanProxies.txt
