Really good discussion on creators and how they are valued.
I can’t speak for all people, but it’s important to remember that US median household income is $80,610. That’s generally a two-income household. When you factor in mortgages, food and utilities, and the other things (school fees, sports, medical issues, etc) - that leaves little money left for things like entertainment, of which music is very much a part. Look at the rising cost of subscription services.
I’ve cut back on a lot of subscriptions, including things like Club TWIT, Patreon, and even crowdfunded projects because I no longer have the discretionary income I once had.
It’s not that I don’t value music - it’s that I can’t afford the monetary outlay to support it.

Yeah. It be like that sometimes. Folks gotta cut back where they can, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t supportive or rooting for the creators they once supported with their own earned money. Respect.

I saw the Netsuite ad and it reminded me of an ad playing in Japanese cabs that I was a (small) part of.
