I saw The Electric State last week. It isn’t that bad, I’ve seen worse movies, such as the Marvel films. But it was predictable and the acting not top form, but passable.
It does make you think about how unscrupulous big business is and about how old enemies don’t have to remain enemies and can come together to fight for a combined cause.
It is watchable and I wouldn’t give it a thumbs down on Netflix, but I wouldn’t give it a thumbs up, either. It is just mediocre straight to streaming fare.
Wikipedia says a game is coming out today based on the movie.

Okay. I didn’t know it was based on a book. That could explain the bad press it is receiving. I just watched it as a standalone film.
Feel like they missed the biggest part of that book on Facebook. They wanted to get into China so badly they were going to handover HK protestor and other global dissidents data to China as part of the negotiations. This was during the period where China was trying to change HK and the pro democracy protests were going on.
