I’m only 30 minutes in, and I hope I’m in the minority when I say this: this episode so far is really boring and hard to listen to. I’ll probably have more positives to say when Jeff & Paris get involved in the discussion. But right now I wish I had timestamps so I could skip this.
Paris & Leo’s office marriage act out was hilarious
I thoroughly enjoyed the whole episode. Cathy is invaluable with her first hand insight as well as with her rebuttal of Leo’s experimental "move fast and break things"approach to innovation. I think this is one of the greatest risks of the tech oligarchy and trump success: it normalises and even subconsciously promotes a thoroughly reckless approach to innovation. It can even suck in our generally very well balanced Leo from time to time. The way we ALL learn to drive is by going slowly and carefully because we have respect for both positive and negative outcomes. You wouldn’t tell your child ever to drive as fast as they can or they never will get their license. That’s just ridiculous in my mind. Sadly, ridiculous behaviour is, as said, normalised by ridiculous leadership. Gladly, Leo has spoken much more reflected in the past. I think he just took the wrong turn after the admittedly awesome journaling service / device. Is love to have that, too. Just smartly developed so that the harms are actually limited.
