Sharing @gigastacey’s concerns about Fitbit. Big fan, and the current Ionic/Versa (based on Pebble?) are my perfect wearable at the mo. i.e. great battery life, heart rate/AFIB, just the right level of notifications, sleep tracking, GPS tracks my rides and hikes, music, payments etc. in a thinner device. I tried Wear OS, went back to Fitbit very quickly.

Guess Google wants access to their userbase and data, manufacturing and sensor technologies?

Our home is now more and more Google Nest based with the computing/video production side all Apple (iPad/iPhone). I have and Apple Watch but my wife would like to try a FitBit. We have one of everything as we also have at least one Amazon Echo in the home and a Windows laptop (my company machine).

This festive season we will be buying a Google Nest Mini for the bedroom and a Nest Hub Max for my wife’s kitchen.

On the topic of reporting on facts and contects and adding “color”. I would like to say that contects can still be facts but there is a big differnce between reporting on information/facts and then making conculusions or trying to draw conclusions. the facts should speak for themselves. If I feel like the journalist is trying to push a specific agenda i wont trust the “facts” they are trying to state.

I agree. Facts should speak for themselves, but there’s always one person that still can’t decipher the facts.
Stealing is against the law. Fact. Yet many people will take a grape or three while browsing the produce section as if they’re samples.

Come to my country, we call it “sampling the product” to ensure freshness before purchasing it.

I think i see what your saying. when it comes to much less definative things like for instance weather new tech is good or bad for us. Its important to state the specifc facts and details so people can understand and decide for themselves its not wrong to state your opinions but stating opions as fact like “big data is bad” or “facebook is evil” etc. I think its really important to aproach things in a way that is not “this is right or wrong” but rather “here are the facts and this is why i think this is good or bad, what do you think?” so that we can contue to have a society that is open minded and moving forward.

when it comes to movies vs podcasts sped up i think its important to remember everyone has different sized processors and some people (not me) can process audio and visial faster than others.

If a customer is not expressly given something, or offered a sample, it’s stealing.

indeed it is stealing but most grocers will close one eye as most of the things that are “sampled” are usually small items such as sunflower seeds, pickled fruits and things that cost very little to both the grocer and their supplier.

Did I hear correctly that they were suggesting deleting emails to make up space? Why would you ever delete email? They hardly take any space, and if you do have individual emails that do (large attachments), you can delete those specifically. I believe you can use size:5242880 to find emails bigger than 5mb for example.

Also, if you buy Google One for a whole year, you only pay for 10 months so it’s 20$ for a year!

This is for Jeff and others that would like to get to “Recent” with in the Assistant search bar.

  1. Click or touch the “G”.
  2. Click or touch the “G” again in the upper left.
  3. in the bottom option bar click or touch “recent”.

you will then find all the recent pages or links you went to in the recent past.

enjoy, p.s. I tried to find a way to create a home screen shortcut for it but failed sorry.

Nice! I mean I like pie, and good pie wins over bad cake, but if you have a good cake v. good pie, the cake wins. Unless it’s cheesecake. That’s an abomination.

Agreed. Though it’s hard to beat a good Mardi Gras king cake…

@gigastacey your worries & speculations are over, fitbit is bought. Now how do we make sure Google or Alphabet don’t do a play dough thingy, and messed it up.
