I’d guess every country is trying to get a backdoor into software to use against their enemies but it does rather invalidate the notion that, because many eyes can look at it, open source software is better than propriatory stuff because we’ve seen time and time again that, although, these bugs can be found, it’s months or years before anyone will notice
