Listening to this week’s episode, I was reminded of Vint Surf’s quote about “the biggest flaw in the original design of the TCP/IP protocol was allowing computers to communicate without verifying trust and authenticity.” That always seems a bit disingenuous since that would probably have required more processing power available back then, and the priority would surely have been to get the system working.
