Setting up an install server to install Edubuntu

20 refurbished Dell laptops running Windows 11 are being donated to our school.

I plan on installing Edubuntu on to all of them.

Can I set up a server to perform a network install (PXE - is that the right term? It’s been a couple of decades since I’ve worked with products like Symantec!).?

Is this what you are looking for?

I used something like this, but with Debian, when I worked for a cybersecurity company. We had diskless NUCs and they booted into Debian and the devs worked on them from there or connected to a Debian terminal server.

It was a very nice solution, but the other admin had set it all up, before I joined the company, so I didn’t have to do the configuration myself.

It’s not quite what I had in mind, but I like this idea a lot better. The problem is I don’t have enough knowledge to build the server myself, even following their instructions. I’m going to see if I can find a preconfigured server package. Sort of like WAMP or LAMP.

Thanks for the info.

I used to use Clonezilla and remembering liking that. From a quick Google search, I think there’s still current versions. I might give that a try.
