Love this one, Mistershipwreck. Here’s mine:

I don’t know if I have a favourite, but this one has meaning to me, as a software developer who spends inordinate amounts of time writing code that doesn’t use null references:

There are so many… An absolute favourite? I’m not sure, but this one always makes me smile:

“Do you know what this is? Hmm? No, I can see you do not. You have that vacant look in your eyes, which says hold my head to your ear, you will hear the sea!” - Londo Molari

This is also good:
“No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms
forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against that power tyrants and dictators cannot stand.” - G’Kar

But I love this one from Mark Twain:

“Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.”

And this one, from my boss this morning.

A user sent an email that their mailbox is nearly full, could we please give him more storage.

He replied:

“I have increased the storage of your mailbox. In the future please use small letters* and black and white images to save space.”

Had our whole office in fits of laughter.

  • lower case, in German, literally “small letters”.

A couple Taoist quotes I love:

The realms of good fortune
And calamity in human life
Are all made of thoughts
And imaginings.

He accomplishes his task, but does not claim credit for it. It is precisely
because he does not claim credit that his accomplishments remain with him.

Gotta love Pooh  As for failure, it sucks, but it’s what keeps us humble.
