New to 3D printing

My Bambu Labs X1C 3D printer with an AMS 2 arrived on Monday, and this has already been a massive learning experience. (But an enjoyable one, if slightly frustrating at times.) It made me think that I can’t be alone, and so I thought I would attempt to pull together the resources of the many TWiTs out there so we can all learn together, and show off what we make or build or print. Also please share any hits, tips or point out cool projects on the various communities out there.

We have a Bambu Labs as well, not sure of the model, at work.

We bought a new 16 port switch, but it didn’t come with 19" rack mounts, so Production Engineering printed us mounts, but they did a small one on the left and a much bigger one with a holder for the power supply on the right. So much better than having a dozen power supplies laying on other devices or piled up at the bottom of the rack.

So far I have emptied the “demo spool” (I think it might have been 500g) of green filament that came with printer and an entire 1kg of black that I ordered separately the next day (when I was mislead by ChatGPT to believe none would come with it.) Probably 2-3% of that is waste that is in my “poop bucket”… they sure do like to purge and clean a lot (but I guess that’s the cost of “best quality” prints?) My biggest, and kinda coolest (to me anyway) use of filament so far has been a modular lantern for the holidays. It comes apart (you can print your own clips, or it supports putting small magnets in to hold it together, which I may order later) so you can keep updating the look for different holidays. I’ll probably post a pic or two later, but the designer is here: https://makerworld.com/en/@trusteddev and there are even 3rd party people making inserts.
