MBW 964: I'm Just Disappointed

Beep boop - this is a robot. A new show has been posted to TWiT…

What are your thoughts about today’s show? We’d love to hear from you!

I’m watching the episode now, but I wanted to say: Leo I love your shirt!!

I appreciated Gruber’s reality check moment. It was a great post. And his Upgrade episode with Jason was awesome.

I fear Mark Gurman wouldn’t be a great podcast guest. He doesn’t strike me as someone who would enjoy being silly.

Leo’s shirts from Abrazos Designs, San Miguel de Allende, MX

( I almost said “courtesy of” but then I realized I’ve been buying them. The first few were sent to me from a fan named Winton Churchill who is an expat living in San Miguel. I’m forever grateful to him for turning me on to them!)

I’m going to take a moment of schadenfreude and not give a da*n for Eric Migicovsky’s problems. He was a complete jerk (I’d use stronger language, but don’t want moderation) back during the Windows Phone days - even going so far as actively killing a deal for getting Pebble supported on Windows Phone where he had to do absolutely nothing .

In the interests of honesty, this is an exception to my normal rule of only looking at the last 10 years of behavior of a company as an indicator of who they are currently, but it’s only just outside that range (by 1 month or so).

I was so irritated when I read this article as I really wanted a smart watch that supported Windows Phone. The Microsoft Band was good, but it was limited. And the way in which he killed the deal has left a bad taste in my mouth to this day. Petty - maybe. But I do not feel his pain at being denied access arbitrarily to Apple. Is Apple right for doing so - absolutely not. But - as I said - schadenfreude.
