MBW 714: Amish That up for Me

Beep boop - this is a robot. A new show has been posted to TWiT…

What are your thoughts about today’s show? We’d love to hear from you!

On the Apple Store reopening discussion: as we have recently relaxed some of the restrictions here in my state (Western Australia), I went to a local Apple store on Sunday to get AppleCare for my wife’s watch.

Before I was allowed in I had to get in one queue to get a temperature check and face mask; then move into another queue to wait on an employee to come over, ask me what I needed and only then allow me into the store.

It was an interesting experience and while it completely takes the casual browsing experience away, it was both reassuring from a health perspecitive and more efficent for actually getting the service I required.

Two things I want Apple glasses for:

When I’m out hiking, I want to pre-load the trail maps and have the glasses help me find my way;

I’m a single sculler and we row facing backwards. I want to put a tiny wide-angle camera (doesn’t need to record or anything, just be my view) on a glasses strap at the back of my head, and see where I’m going in the glasses so I don’t have to constantly look over my shoulder.

I love MacBreak Weekly, but I’ve been getting uncomfortable with how, after Andy finishes a long stream of consciousness, the other hosts don’t reply for enough seconds to make it clear that no one was listening, or perhaps are reluctant to follow up because they fear another stream of consciousness. I think Andy brings up some good points, though often off topic. Am I the only one who feels uncomfortable?

I’d like to see Apple help malls implement these safety measures at the mall entrances. Don’t even let sick people in the mall. I don’t want to be exposed while I’m in line for the Apple store,or while walking through the food court to get there.

I know what you mean GrandmaChaz - but I dont think it’s a new thing - I noticed it years ago. On a positive stance, maybe what he says is so brilliant that there is nothing to add :slight_smile:

Oh, and guess what I had in my cupboard… Wasabi Furikake and Kimchee Furikake! Use it on rice. Never thought of popcorn! I bought these two in an Asian grocery store a while ago.

Actually what happens is that Andy’s monologues move the conversation in an entirely different direction - sort of like hijacking a comment stream - and it often takes me a moment to figure out what we were talking about.

That made me giggle & snort. I :heart: Andy! :rofl:

Andy brings the power of Chaotic Good to the conversation, and his totem animal definitely ought to be the squirrel. :wink:

That’s meant as 100% praise.
