I’m running dev beta one on my iPhone right now and I am a bit shocked at how well it’s running. Usually the first dev beta is borderline unusable, but this runs better than iOS 26 on my phone.

Regarding the same number on multiple phones, that is something we have been doing for decades. In the 90s, it was usually a carphone and a mobile phone, then later a phone and PC, but my ex-boss, for example, had an iPhone 5 permanently attached to his BMW and a 5S as his normal phone, so he didn’t need to have to mess around with cables, when he got in the car, he just got in and drove and the phone in the car was always ready to go.

These days, with wireless CarPlay, I suspect he just uses one phone.

I’m a bit nervous / sad about the rollout of the Apple Intelligence models. I’ve got an iPad Pro M4 but it only has 8GB of RAM, compared to the now-standard 12 GBs of the M4 iPad Air. I hope the lesser models on the 8GB devices aren’t that bad.

I’m not gonna give in and make the same mistake again (buying an iPad off-cycle) but I’m really kicking myself for moving to the OLED iPad Pro at the time I did. I really should’ve rode my Face ID-less iPad Pro M1 until the M5. I thought I could be more like a normal person and not worry about it; I was wrong.

Plus even without Apple Intelligence (something I’m not convinced I’ll use much; and I have an iPhone 17 Pro which will likely be a better place for my AI needs) having more RAM on the newer iPads would be great for me as I’m always multitasking on my device.

Is that how the panelists on the show make it work when they say they have an iPhone, but might also have an Android phone, same number of both? I’ve wondered how they make it work when they have a demo device to play around with. Or, do they have a throw away number they use only for the test phone? Never mind. Just rewatched the show and this is a new feature of iOS 27.

On the subject of Siri AI, I wonder how long it will take, and how warm it will get, when your iPhone has to do a deep dive to reindex everything so that Siri has knowledge of your old texts, emails, searches, etc., to be able to do everything they’re showing it can do.

Multi-SIM with the same number is something that the mobile carrier must make available. In Germany nealry all of them offer it, many contracts include 2-3 SIMs in the price, or they are an additional 5€ a month.

The SIM-sharing that the iOS 27 will offer is something different, I think.

I mentioned multi-SIM because Leo, I think, couldn’t think of a reason, why people would want multiple devices (especially iPhones) with the same number.
