I saw the announcement about the Blackmagic camera on the way home from a trade show yesterday and my first thought was Alex!
Regarding smart glasses, they are going to be a very hard sell in many countries (and another social faux pas for US tourists). I really don’t know what I’d buy them for, my wife would kill me if I wore them at home, I can’t wear them in public, because it is illegal to photograph people without their permission (there are some exceptions, if you are photographing a monument and they happen to walk across the background of the photo), I can’t wear them in shops and I can’t wear them at work (everywhere I’ve worked since 1987 has had a no cameras policy).
That pretty much leaves nature walks, assuming nobody else is on the trail or in my home office, when I am alone…
Germany is so different from the US. In general, since you’re in public, photos of anyone are ok. When I worked for the TV networks we had to get a release from anyone in a shot that “would be identifiable to their mother,” but that was broadcast networks. And lately in the US it’s become more difficult to just take pictures, it could get you stopped, harrassed, arrested, or even shot by the “authorities.”
I have to admit though: I think the Pro phones moving to aluminum is overall a step backwards. My phone doesn’t feel as premium as it once did. I’ve been using a stainless steel (or for 2 years titanium) phone ever since the iPhone X in 2017 and going back to aluminum just feels terrible.
My winter coat zipper (I’m guessing that’s the culprit) took a knick of paint off the corner of my orange phone. The phones were a success though, so I don’t see Apple moving back to a move premium material when the Pro crowd has shown perhaps they don’t care. I use the telephoto camera too often to even consider the Air-successor
The problem is, the new iPhones also run faster and cooler for longer than their predecessors, because the aluminium frame can be used to dissipate the heat more effectively…
