I have a LG G8 that I’m pretty happy with, especially with the deal I got on it. The one thing that was widely pushed by LG was the Air Motion features that allow users to interact with the phone without touching it. The functionality is fairly limited to just a few features to unlock the phone and control media and the reliability of it is such that I’ve ended up turning it off.
My question is how is Google’s Project Soli as it’s being used in the Pixel 4 that much different than what LG has been doing in the G8?
Unless both LG and Google offer significant updates to improve functionality and reliability both Soli and Air Motion are going to be just more failed gimmicky features.
