Does an e-bike count as an EV?

Anyway, I think @Leo has advertised for them, and probably owns one or two, so I am sharing this just in case:

According to BARD

Yes, an e-bike is considered an electric vehicle (EV). It is a bicycle that has an electric motor that assists the rider’s pedaling. The motor can provide a boost of power to help the rider go faster or up hills. E-bikes can be classified as Class 1, Class 2, or Class 3, depending on their maximum speed.

  • Class 1 e-bikes have a maximum assisted speed of 20 mph.
  • Class 2 e-bikes have a maximum assisted speed of 20 mph, but the rider can also pedal faster than that.
  • Class 3 e-bikes have a maximum assisted speed of 28 mph.

E-bikes are considered EVs because they are powered by electricity. They are also a more sustainable form of transportation than cars or motorcycles, as they produce zero emissions.

In some countries, e-bikes are eligible for the same incentives as other EVs, such as tax breaks and subsidies. They may also be allowed to use bike lanes and other infrastructure that is reserved for bicycles.

If you are looking for a sustainable and affordable way to get around, an e-bike is a great option. They are a fun and convenient way to travel, and they can help you save money on gas and maintenance.

Surprised that’s a recall TBH. There are lots of things on my bike that if not properly adjusted, may cause an accident and injury.

I see they are now using hydraulic brakes on the latest version of that bike.
