iPhone 11 Screen

There’s been articles about how easy it is to scratch the screens on the new iPhones (11’s). Anyone here have firsthand experience?

After dropping A$1600.00 on my first edge to edge screen iPhone, there was no way I would consider carrying it without screen protection. Also, being a total klutz, I use both a screen protector, and a case that covers the screen and edges.

I agree. While my phone is an Android one, I too get a case and screen protector ASAP!

I’m one of the types that hate screen protectors. I do have a clear case on my Xs though and it has survived quite a few drops. I have a couple of minor, almost unnoticeable scratches right at the edge of the screen where screen protectors don’t even cover.

Now that none of the carriers offer a subsidy on phones (Optus has just stopped, the last to do so), I am thinking of getting a folio type case. Maybe a Speck Presidio Folio that can hold a few cards too.

No issues with mine - I don’t use screen protectors although I always use cases (current case is the Apple iPhone 11ProMax smart battery case!!)

After dropping almost $2k AUD on an iPhone 11 Pro I bought a clear bumper case, and immediately had a local specialist fit a wrap-around glass screen protector (it cost more, but she has the skill to fit it perfectly!).

I have never dropped a phone further than out of my pocket onto carpet, but this is a investment worth protecting.

The display is known only to be fingerprint resistant according to Wikipedia.

Display[edit]

The iPhone 11 has a 6.1 in (15.5 cm) IPS LCD, unlike the Pro models which have OLED displays.

The resolution is 1792 × 828 pixels (326 ppi) with a maximum brightness of 625 nits and a 1400:1 contrast ratio. It supports Dolby Vision, HDR10, True-Tone, and wide color gamut. As with the iPhone 11 Pro, XR, XS, and X, the display has a notch at the top for the TrueDepth camera system and the speaker. The display has an oleophobic coating that is fingerprint-resistant.[6][12] Apple announced in September 2019 that both the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro would show a warning notification if a display was replaced with an unauthorized part. Apple stated that problems with the phone could arise if the wrong parts or procedures were used during the repair process.[16]
