Total agreement with @mikahsargent on GIF. For @Leo that says it’s a hard G because it comes from Graphics, then I say to you sir that you must say jay-feg & em-feg because the P comes from photo.

OK you have me there. I just think jif sounds wrong. If you add a “t” to the end of “gif” is it jift?

Which brings it back to what I’ve believed all along - it’s personal preference. No matter what pronunciation the GIF creator decided. I mean, a parent who names a child decides how the name is pronounced, but after some time, it doesn’t have to be up to them anymore. It’s the kid’s decision, or in the case of GIF, it’s users’ decisions.
