I’ve been using a German keyboard for the last 25 years, after over 20 years of using a UK keyboard. I have both German and UK set up in the OS and can switch with a keypress, after years of practice, I can fluidly switch between the two without problems, although I do 99% of my typing on the German layout these days… But we have a Belgian salesman and trying to set up his computer, now that is a challenge!

LOL. You reminded me of an experience I once had. It was a small company, and we had one employee who thought he was better than everyone else. He had been supplied with a Microsoft ergonomic keyboard, one of the ones with the very defined curving sculpt of the keys. (Each key cap has one and only one place it belongs on the keyboard.) He wanted to use the Dvorak keyboard layout because he thought it was more efficient, so he rearranged the keys. Unfortunately the application of the keyboard layout was done in software, and only took effect AFTER login. He ran into a situation where I needed to be able to log into his system to use it to fix something for him. Now THAT was a fun challenge!
