@JeffJarvis was right, something between two slices of bread is a sandwich, when it is in a bun (or a roll, as it is more generally called in the UK) it is a bun.
I am with Paris on Pizza though, thin crust traditional Italian style. The base is there as a carrier, not the major part of the meal, it needs to be light, crispy at the edges and thin, with a wonderful taste, not bit and doughy that fills you up on its own. I always feel bloated if I eat an “American” style pizza (I assume they mean Chicago style), I always go for a “real” pizza if I can.
Having visited Italy several times, you really can’t beat a traditional pizza baked in a proper stone oven.
