While Moving around: iOS podcast app
While driving: Using AnyPod via Alexa auto
While at home: via plex web shows/AnyPod via Alexa
Live streamed on Twitch through an old MacMini hooked to a TV in the comfort of my living room.
I’m one of the oddballs who prefers video over audio and I usually watch the day’s shows in bed at night using YouTube via my Roku3. This forum has been so amazing because now I feel more connected to the community than I did via the chatroom even though I leave it open 24/7.
Being in Europe, I listen “1 day behind”. Apart from TWiT, most of the shows are available when I get up in the morning - TWiT usually turns up late-morning.
I listen to them on my smartphone using Pocket Casts. Usually walking the dog (mornings and evenings) or in the car on the was to/from work or in the gym.
I usually watch the shows that I like on my roku the following morning. My Bride calls it My coffee with Leo time. She says I am not normal. she know me so well
I ride my bike in the mornings, and listen to a lot of shows while riding. Crappy, non-noise blocking earbuds, so I can listen but still hear traffic. I missed TWIG this week on my ride… Otherwise, usually watch it on my Mac. I do tend to watch MacBreak Weekly on the computer. It allows me to FF when Andy really gets wound up on a topic, and tends to go on…
but but we love Andy…
I’m one of the “minority” listeners I watch as much of the live video shows as I do listen to them in the car.
I’m a Director of Technology for a high school. The minute I get into my office in the morning, twit.tv/live goes on in my office and stays on all day long. The students seem to love it too. Always asking me what it is and what shows are on it.
The time I really get to absorb all the details of the shows is on my long commute ( in both directions ) while in the car using Pocketcast for Android.
I use the TWiT app by ShiftKeySoftware on my Roku 3 to watch/listen to all the programs I’m interested in.
Here are my regulars
- This Week in Tech
- All About Android
- MacBreak Weekly
- Tech News Weekly
- This Week In Google
Not an Apple user, so I don’t watch iOS Today - I only really watch MacBreak Weekly for Andy Inhatko. I’ll check out Hands On Tech to see what is being reviewed and Triangulation to see who the guest is. If I’ve seen everything else, I’ll check out Windows Weekly, Security Now and The Tech Guy.
Sorry, but no interest in Ham Nation, although I appreciate the work that Hams do in disaster situations. This Week In Enterprise Tech is too geeky even for me.
This Week In Computer Hardware I find incredibly frustrating. Because it’s only the two hosts, they will put up a web page about a product, and talk about it, but as soon as I look at the screen to see what they are talking about, it is back to their faces, presumably so they can see each other. I would rather see the images they are looking at, hearing them talk about in voice-over. So I gave up on the show.
I listen through the Pocket Casts app for Android or via Credge. I almost never miss Windows Weekly, TWiG, and TWiT. I’m going to have to add Hands-On Photography when Ant gets rolling with that show. It might be the only one I catch the video feed on.
TWiT gets me through my morning and evening commutes to the office!
Now that would be a dream job situation.
Google Podcasts on Pixel 3a XL connected to Android Auto in my Ford truck, makes the commute time go by quickly.
Occasionally video versions on YouTube or Roku.
During the week I’ll have the livestream on pretty much the whole day. It ends up breaking down like this, though.
Monday Catch up on Twit and The Tech Guy.
Tuesday Security Now and AAA.
Wednesday FLOSS Weekly, Windows Weekly, TWIG.
Thursday TNW, TWICH.
Friday TWIET, Triangulation.
Apart from that, I use Pocket Casts on the desktop to listen to any of the day’s episodes as I’m trying to get to sleep.
I watch most Twit content on YouTube via Chromecast.
Usually on my Roku. If the Roku channel is buffering too much, then I switch to my Apple TV and use the You Tube channel.
Most of the time watching live on a desktop Windows PC through the Firefox browser. Depending on which computer I’ll have the chatroom on a Laptop.
Oorah Seabee! -------
Depends:
-iPhone Podcast app at the gym \ in the car
-TWiT app on Roku \ Apple TV
-YouTube app on downstairs TV, from the kitchen
-TWiT website on iMac on telework day, right next to work machine
Generally, I listen to the TWiT shows that I subscribe to via Pocket Casts when I am travelling to/from work and while I am doing work at my desk. Once in a while, I try to watch via twit.tv/live, but don’t have enough time to do that too much.
Usually in my truck via Android Auto on my way to/from work, or using an Aftershokz Trekz headset when at work. The open ear design helps me not miss out when one of my co-workers starts asking questions.
