I recently went through this process, but being a techy user, I was able to use a published workaround. I had to install a proxy on a second PC, then uninstall Authy from my iPad. I then configured my iPad to use my PC as a proxy. When I reconfigured Authy, I was able to capture the seeds. I then used a couple of published scripts to convert the data downloaded into a readable format that was importable to Ente or Proton. I actually had issues importing to Ente, but was able to import to Proton, then exported from Proton and imported into Ente.
Definitely not something for the average user.
I also haven’t watched this, but I’ve been considering moving from Google Authenticator to Apple Passwords but it seems like a hassle not really worth doing for “no reason”. Specially when I have some US gov’t services tied to it already and not wanting to mess with it.
I made the change because I missed having a desktop app. Authy used to provide it, but unceremoniously dropped it a couple of years ago. I also like the GUIs for these other apps better than Authy.
