Before going all out and putting up Billions and Trillions. Read Tom Vanderbilt’s book “Traffic”. He points out that countries where HSR is successful. there is a serious lack of parking! Here in the US we can usually find parking without too much trouble.
If the future works out as predicted, we won’t own the self-driving cars, we’ll just use them when we need them. If that happens, parking will be a relic of the past.
