For the past several days, when trying to watch the shows on the TWIT website, I’m getting an error code from Firefox browser: "This video cannot be played. (Error Code: 224003).
Thus far, this is the only video problem I’m having with the browser. The shows play fine on YouTube. I am using an iMac, and my Firefox is up to date. The shows work fine on Safari.
Any thoughts on why this is happening all of a sudden?
Thanks. Should have thought of that. Apparently UBlock Origin and Ghostery were the problem. Interestingly, these have been on previously, and caused no problem. Wonder why that happens all of a sudden. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to reply!
Yes, something has changed either with TWIT or the filters in uBlock etc. I use a gPodder to collect the shows and so I do not know when the change took place.
My apologies. It’s a long story but on Thursday we started testing a new re-direct with a company called Barometric. The pi-hole, NextDNS, uBlock Origin (and I’m guessing other ad-blocking filters) see the redirect through adentifi.com as connecting to an ad server - which it’s not, it’s for ratings not tracking - and block the download.
We’re working on changing the redirect now. You might get a second copy of TWiT, but the downloads should work from now on.
Stay tuned for a further explanation of what we were trying to do. Again, apologies. It’s should be fixed tonight.
I watched TWIT early this morning with uBlock on, & it worked fine. Thanks Leo, for the update. BTW, I’m bummed that you are going to be only about 100 miles from me this week, but I can’t make it to the Trainwreck Saloon. Enjoy St.Louis!
Thanks much Leo. I was about to post that I was having trouble too, before I saw this. Now working normally for me.
Oddly I had the same problem with ITpro.tv, which I recently signed up for. Pretty sure that too was working on Firefox last week, then stopped working with similar error. Now working again. I guess they really ARE similar!
