It would be helpful if the filenames of podcasts indicated the episode number or date. I download batches of podcasts and would like to listen to them in order.

Yes indeed it would be helpful, but it’s unlikely to ever happen as long as the site has free content because of the way the 3rd party Megaphone ad insertion works.
Yeah it used to when I was doing it, but now there are all sorts of weird automations going on. Sorry.
