Comcast Xfinity problems

Any Comcast experts on here??

We’re staying at a dear friend’s condo visiting family for a few weeks. My daughter and her cousins are tech support for them, but they say the cable TV and Internet went offline a few days before we arrived. Was working fine before that. Comcast say all OK.

No problem, I can sort. So I hardwired into the hub, looked at the admin console, all showing OK there. Says WAN connection OK, WiFi up and running, sensible entries for DNS, solid white light on the hub.

But no Internet. Also when I connect to the WiFi I get this splash screen. Is there some extra step needed to activate it? As we have UK phones we can’t do as it says and download their app. Any way round this?

I’ve tried a reset, but all that’s done is reset the WiFi SSID and password back to a default.

The TV set top box complains of a connection error too after a lengthy boot up, even though I’ve now hard wired it into the hub to bypass WiFi.

Seems like there’s no active subscription on your cable line. Comcast should be able to help you through it. What did they say when you called and told them you’re getting the activation splash screen? If they tell you “all OK” again you should tell them “not OK”

We’re ringing again tomorrow. Got a hunch the ‘kids’ have been fiddling, as it was working, now isn’t. Last thing was a Ring doorbell was added. Then it all went offline. Not sure how changing settings can deactivate the whole account, though

All sorted. The whole account had been deactivated for some unknown reason :man_shrugging:
