Cleaning camera sensors

Do people clean their sensors? One of my DSLRs has had a black spot on every image for ages, the in-built sensor clean function or a blower doesn’t sort it.

I got bored fixing it every time in post, so I took it to the local camera shop today. Hopefully, it will be sorted by tomorrow.

Are they easy to clean yourself or best left to a shop?

I think it depends. I’ve used a soft brush and a blower once on my aged Canon 350D with great success (and trepidation). If that hadn’t of worked, then I would have been like you and sought professional help.

Thanks. The manual said to use a blower only, no brush, then seek help from a dealer if no luck. So I was chicken, and did that rather than ruin a sensor by trying to follow a YouTube vid :slightly_smiling_face:
