Can Yubico Authenticator be used in Microsoft Outlook for passwordless

HI I was wondering if I could ask a question about my Microsoft outlook account and using a yubico authenicaor app for passwordless account. I now it says that you have to use the Microsoft Authenicator for passwordless account. I do not have an iphone. I use my 5c nfc yubikeys on my laptop only. Yubico Authenicator is used with these keys. The yubico Authicator also scans qr codes as well. So I was just wanting to now if anyone has used the yubico authenicator app for passwordless account. I would love to get rid of my microsoft password for my outlook if I can simply because their have been a lot of passwords dumpted on the internet lately from hackers.

Thanks

To my knowledge, you have to use the Microsoft Authenticator app to go passwordless. But once you do, you can use the YubiKey to log in. It seems like once you set it up, you can just use your YubiKey. Also, if you use a Microsoft account for your Windows login, Windows Hello will work if you set it (I use a pin since I have a desktop and no hardware for any other method), and act as a passkey method to log in on the Microsoft websites.

I’m curious, what type of phone do you have?

HI Miquefire I use a phone with no internet connection. I use my laptop to surf the internet. My cell phone is a sonim.

There are a few different options I think (Last I heard, Blue Stacks is like the brand name almost everyone thinks of when they think of this), but one of those Android emulators that allow you to run Android apps, and if it has Google Play Store access, you can download the MS auth app. Again, if your Windows login is the Microsoft account, set up the Windows Hello first! Don’t want to risk a chicken-and-egg problem.

thanks for the advice.
