HI I was wondering if I could ask some questions about the Whatsapp for desktop. I was wanting to now can I use the whatsapp desktop version without paring an android or an iphone. Are their any free qr scanners that I can use with my windows laptop witch has a built in camera. Can I use my buit in camera to scan the whatsapp qr code with out using a third party free qr scanner

I don’t know how the WhatsApp app on the desktop works, but with QR codes, you can usually show the text that is embedded in the code and type it in manually. If the QR code is printed, without the alternative text, you can scan it with the photo app on the phone and it should display the code in text form, before redirecting to the relevant application, you should be able to them type it into WhatsApp on the desktop…
I’ve scanned the desktop QR code with my phone camera. It’s a pretty incomprehensible jumble of characters that probably only makes sense to the phone WhatsApp app, which is what you usually use to scan it.
The desktop app has two methods of connecting your phone. Scanning the QR code, or generating a code that you then type into WhatsApp on your phone.
But you need a phone number and working WhatsApp account.
