Sad to hear this podcast is going away, part of the problem is that I love so many TWiT shows that I never get a chance to listen to all of them and end up missing out, so this was a perfect way to catch up on the best bits.
Leo explained that social media is supposed to replace this but as someone who has pretty much migrated away from these sites I can’t help but feel I’m going to start missing out again.
Hopefully this gets revisited at some point in the future as this was perfect for someone like me with a lower than normal attention span.
You could call them TWiT Bits, that would be a great show name! Oh wait, that’s Tech Break’s old name.
Tech Break was always a feed that was mainly optimised for YouTube and social media. Not every Tech Break video made it to the RSS feed and the main site, some were only available on YouTube. Also, not every segment of every show was part of Tech Break, so the feed was incomplete and not the best way to catch up on old shows.
Rebranding to Tech Break was also supposed to come with more exclusive Tech Break content that doesn’t fit in any other show. I don’t think that has happened very often.
I think timestamps would solve the use case of quickly finding a part of the show you’re interested in. But there seems to be no one at TWiT that’s passionate about timestamps and they’re not relevant to advertisers, so that will probably never happen.
