Audiobook Servers

Can anyone recommend a good self-hosted audiobook server? Like Booksonic Air or Audiobookshelf, I’m having trouble making these work on my Raspberry Pi and the iOS app for Audiobookshelf would require me to put my phone in Test Flight, which seems super sketchy to me…

I suppose that what I’m after is a piece of software that’ll let me keep track of the audiobooks I have in MP3 form and have the server connect to an app on my phone so I can listen to them on the go

Have you looked at Plex?

It’s not it’s primary function but it should be able to do some of the things that you are looking for, but I haven’t tried audio books with it myself.

Someone wrote an audiobook extension for Plex, so maybe I’ll investigate that.

EDIT: The iPhone app MP3 Audiobook Player allows you to play audiobooks in MP3 format. It seems to allow you to add books from various sources. It even has a built-in WebDAV server so that you can add books directly… or you can use Nextcloud or something if you have the app installed

I personally use a combination of Plex and the iOS app Prologue to access my personal collection of audiobooks.

I also use the OpenAudible application on my Mac to archive my library of Audible titles as well, that I access using the same set up mentioned above.

I have a little over 400 books in my library and it works without a hitch.
