Since the show is RECORDED, is it a good idea to disclose the authenticator result? It is more than just showing authentication codes.
TOTP codes are only good for 30 seconds. They’re derived from a shared secret in a way that is [currently] believed to be impossible to reverse from the short code back to the long shared secret. (I say “currently” because maybe, in theory, some future quantum computing cracker might eventually be able to work it out if it had dozens of sequential codes (like maybe 10 minutes worth gathered all at one time.))

What he said. It’s probably dumb but it wouldn’t be the first time I’ve done something dumb for the purposes of demonstration. It’s kind of my trademark.

But it is more than just showing the authentication codes: accounts list and email addresses.
True it was potentially bad opsec, it’s always better to keep secret as much as possible, but @Leo is a very public person, and I suspect those who pay attention know a lot about him and could guess these things anyway. The 2nd factor should help slow down an attacker enough that he would be made aware of any potential attack and have time to react appropriately.

I realize that there is some confusion. It’s funny because we did explain this on the last ATG episode, but apparently many people who didn’t listen to the show miss it!
I will record a short farewell and add it to the end of the ATG feed.
I’ll be honest Leo, based on what I heard on the last show, I thought there was one more episode coming with you being solo (since Mikah was on vacation) before the format change. Perhaps I missed you saying that week was the last one. Unfortunately, I’ve had to travel the past couple of weeks and would have missed anyways.
Yeah I decided that last show without Mikah would turn into a litany of calls saying good-bye and I hate long good-byes.
