According to Apple’s website: CR2032 batteries with bitterant coatings might not work with AirTag or other battery-powered products, depending on the alignment of the coating in relation to the battery contacts.
Apple Chat support was unable to provide any further specific source other than electronic or drug stores to say “CR2032 lithium 3V coin battery is the battery you would need”.
Has anyone found a battery replacement for the AirTag?
