AirDrop’ed several (34) photos from my iPhone SE on iOS 17 to my M1 Mac on MacOS 14 and they all came as .pvt files. Photos on Mac does not recognize them as photos when I try to import. If I double click on each individual file, it shows up in Photos.
This literally is a totally new behavior as far as I am concerned. Air Drop photos regularly.

). If you fix the extension by changing it to the correct .heic then you can view them with any HEIC image viewing software.
