I just started testing the TiVo Stream 4K, which is using Android TV, and I have to say that it has been surprisingly good so far. The TiVo button shows content instead of apps, the guide button uses Sling and TiVo+ for the channels, but the rest is still pure Android with the Play Store and the standard UI. The price is great ($69.99 MSRP; $49.99 on sale right now). I have not tried it with games, but I almost never used that on my NVIDIA Shield.
It’ll be interesting to see how this will compare to the new Google TV dongle in features and price.
