A Certain "Tech TV Channel"

[Moderator Note] This post could be construed as spam, and doesn’t meet Leo’s guidelines of posts not just being links to a site. (The goal being that this is a discussion forum, so if you post a link, you should discuss why you felt the need to post it.) In this case, I feel like the OP is “reporting” a misleading site, which I agree with, so I am leaving it in place, but blurring the link. My opinion of the site follows one of the comments below, it’s looks pretty scammy to me.

Uh oh that site looks hella sketchy

Just the wording makes my spidey senses tingle - “financial” is kind of prominent, which makes me think of bitcoin/investment scams.

A shame if they’ve stolen the TechTV name.

While what Clayton says may be true about the scam, it could just be one of those slop news sites, and it might rely on affiliate links and ads (and maybe other methods to sell your info) to earn money.

I’m going to guess the people who do fall for any scams they’re running, are people who saw the name TechTV on their cable line-up, but don’t know it is gone for good.

It has an early 2000s feel, with autoplay video, mixed with AI images for most stories, no real images, although that is becoming more and more common these days. It also let it load whilst looking at my DNS logs, a couple of banned sites popped up, like Taboola, but nothing really out of the ordinary.

The cybertruck patrol car was also misleading for example. According to other press releases, Irvine bought a solitary Cybertruck in black and white livery with emergency kit is destined for anti-drug roadshows, yet the site talks about it being chosen by multiple departments for its robustness and longevity (both of which have been repeatedly shown to be poor, compared to more conventional counterparts from other manufacturers).

It looks like a lot of the content is AI heavy in the text used, I’m guessing it is simply a link/SEO farm to earn revenue, but none of the stories I quickly browsed seemed very accurate or in depth.
