24" 4K monitors

Hello everyone!

Back in 2015 a friend of mine gave me a super awesome Dell p2415q monitor.
I love this monitor so much. I find 24" the perfect size where you can see everything without having to move your head.

For now, the monitor still works and everything is mostly OK. I’ve had some issues since day 1, but since the monitor was likekly “off the truck”, I could never really RMA/warranty it; but that’s OK.

Some of the issues have been getting a bit worse, and sometimes certain things on the display (namely oldschool games) could cause weird flickering issues if I don’t mess with the sharpness.

I like to be prepared, and I’m starting to worry about the future when I will need to replace this display (plus, I have a good budget these days, it would be nice to have multiple of the same display, and have some in storage for the future). I hope I have a handful of years left in my monitor. But I’m worried!

I was doing some research and it looks like most of the display manufacturers have moved away from creating 24" 4K displays. I got pretty discouraged looking around online. I don’t really want to move to 27/32" displays just to keep 4K. I love HiDPI displays. I run Windows at 175% scaling which is a nice mix of clear text, but still more screen space than standard 1080p.

Does anyone have any leads on how one might buy a monitor like that? It looks like there’s 1 option, but it’s nearly exclusive to markets in Asia.

I’m based in Canada. But I’ve started pondering how serious I am about wanting a new display. I’ve toyed with the idea that maybe if I found a reliable lead (ie: “oh yeah! you can get that in a store in shenzen. here’s the details”) maaaybe I would be crazy enough to have that be a motivator for a trip across the pond.

This thread was long and maybe all over the place, so to recap: I really want the peace of mind that I can still buy a 24" 4K monitor. Do y’all have any ideas?

I was doing some testing, and I think I could either go with a 2560x1440 24" monitor with some scaling. Or I could bite the bullet and go bigger. But I really like the 24" size.

I stumbled on this monitor but it’s so pricey on Amazon. That’s what led me to finally consider maybe 1440 is where I have to be if I truly can’t do 27" ProArt Display PA24US|Monitors|ASUS Canada I realize it’s pricey probably because of that built in color calibator camera. Which is a feature (/gimmick?) i don’t need.

I used to have 2 x 24" monitors although they were 1080p. I bought a 32" 16:9 4k monitor and I rarely use a second screen now.

Even 24" side by side is too wide in my opinion so two monitors even wider than that is just too much head turning for me.

I’ve always really loved my triple monitor setup. I have a vertical monitor off to my right, and on the left is a standard horizontal. I like to have games (sometimes) on my main display, but still have 1 horizontal / vertical monitor to fall back to for other stuff. It feels cool haha.

If I were going to get 1 screen, I would love a whacky 16:18 display.

Even though I’m still on the hunt for a 24” 4K monitor, it looks like if my monitor were to die today, I would probably buy this monitor KTC H27P3 5K monitor review: easy to spot the faults, not the pixels | The Verge

Still a bummer it’s hard to find a really nice high res 24” monitor.

I bought a pair of Viture Lumo Pro glasses, they are quite nice, although the dioptric won’t adjust to my right eye, so it is a bit blurry, I will need to get the additional lens insert, but I can still use it. They work as a large (1, 2 or 3 monitors of 1920x1200, or a virtual room with upto a a 32:9 display. It actually works well and you have a lot of privacy…

But I still prefer my 44” 4K display.

What’s your budget? I did a quick search on Newegg and there was exactly one result for a 24” panel with 4k pixels. Not cheap though! Sadly 2000CAD is well over budget hahaha. I don’t really have a “budget”, but a 2000 monitor is for someone who is self-imployed and can use it as a write off on their business expenses. I’m just a regular consumer (who sadly wants something really niche and relatively “pro-grade”). I don’t really care about the accuracy although I love ASUS ProArt displays. I have a 1920x1200 ASUS ProArt monitor too which has been super reliable for over 10 years

I’ve been getting ads for this monitor everyday on Instagram and it sounds like this is exactly what I’m looking for. It’s a 2026 miracle

i’ve heard from a few sources that this year will be good for display tech. CES might be interesting on that front!

I’ll hold off buying the monitor for a few days/weeks and see what happens.

My plan is to buy that ViewSonic monitor, ship it to Florida where my parents live, and when they come back home in the spring, they’ll bring me the monitor. ViewSonic wanted to charge me $62 to Ground ship it to Canada, but $0 for anywhere in the USA. I don’t need the monitor today, I’m saving myself $85.

Maybe it’ll go on sale between now and March. But unlikely. I had to wait so many years for them to even make something like this again.

Ars Technica posted a nice summary of display highlights from CES. Personally I’m happy to see the oddball aspect ratios getting a bit more love. I have an LG DualUp 16:18 and it’s been a game changer for me.

Didn’t see anything along the lines of what you’re searching for but some interesting concepts for sure.

I might actually be open to a 27” 5K display, which seemed to be pretty cool at CES this year from a podcast (ATP) I’m listening to.
