I thought with NFTs, the copyright remains with the creator, the purchaser of the NFT just has the copy of the NFT in the blockchain? Wouldn’t Seth Green then have to talk to the creators of the Bored Apes? It would be irrelevant, who currently owns the NFT itself.
Or did Bored Apes do it differently to other NFTs?

I guess NFTs are the same as any other artwork. Ownership does not give you copyright, which remains with the creator, unless it’s transferred as part of a purchase agreement.

Listening further into the show, it seems that Bored Ape, unlike some others, did transfer copyright, according to @Leo & Andy. Not 100% sure, I’ve not read the T&Cs for Bored Ape.
