Because they spent decades with Internet Explorer and it was a joke and everybody downloaded Firefox or Chrome and Google had the marketing to put Firefox in the shadow. Edge still suffers from the tyranny of the browser in Windows only being useful for downloading a proper browser.

Yes, I thought that as well. Google are a monopoly abuser paying another monopoly abuser to not do something, if they undo that, then we have a monopoly abuser adding yet another thing to their arsenal…
Paul @thurrott would have been (and would be) a great guest for this show. His incredible experience covering the Microsoft trials of the 90s and the knowledge he accumulated in terms of antitrust as applied to tech companies would be invaluable for this kind of conversation.
