Just a brief note on Mike Elgan and the Experiences. I have been on two Gastronomad Experiences, enjoyed them both, and can recommend them as much for the people you meet as for the gastronomic side. Mike is very funny, very friendly, very well-informed, and very hard working. He’s also an exceptionally good photographer and laughs a lot.

I think Mike is a good addition, but he’s not really anyone new. Thus, the show might not really derive much new drive from him. (Not trying to be negative here…)
Also, I wonder if having three men on the podcast continuously really introduces a lot of diversity in views. That’s where I really liked Stacey’s opinions and views. Sure, many things might seem more social-justice-warrior-y, but often, these perspectives are far from wrong, and it needs someone who introduces them. Otherwise, it’s many men listening to a podcast made by men for men. You might say: on target, but… it just makes for slightly less novel insights.
I wonder if the co-host of This Week in Law, Denise Howell, might come back every once in a while? TWiG is a really political and policy-oriented show most of the time and I feel that she might have great insights to share, if she’s still available for co-hosting shows. Sure: she’s been around, too. But She has not been for a few years, so that might bring some new drive (and a great counterpart for Jeff).

Agreed with your points. I think Stacey is irreplaceable, honestly. One of the things she brought was a multidimensional diversity. As a woman, a journalist, a hardware nerd, and a protocol buff, she could comment on things on a very different way than Mike or Jeff could. In a way, Mike and Jeff have a similar role on the show, both being journalists, men, and without the level of technicality that Stacey offered.
I hope we can see different cohosts over the next few weeks!

We’ll be trying a variety of people looking for someone with the chops to replace Stacey. It won’t be easy but I agree we need to add a new flavor to the recipe.
