# iPad Wifi or Cellular

Wanted to add a little tidbit about your answer to Rich (somewhere Indiana) about cellular or Wifi on the iPad. Wifi only iPads do not have GPS on the devices. This may not be an issue for most, but as a Public Safety Geographic Information Systems (GIS) professional, GPS is essential to do mobile data collection. An external GPS device could be connected via bluetooth, but for real time data collection during a disaster having cellular and GPS is a great feature.

Another argument for iPad GPS would be for a company routing workers. I’m sure there are a few scenarios for people to require GPS on a work iPad.
