# Homebrew: mas install fails on M1 Mac

Just installed the Homebrew 3 with its “full support” on Apple Silicon. My attempts to install mas fail with this error.

> Error: mas: no bottle available!  
> You can try to install from source with:  
> brew install --build-from-source mas

I believe this means there is no compiled version for Mac/ARM… brew info tells me it requires “Carthage” – which does not exist for Apple/ARM – so build-from-source seems pointless.

Has anyone gotten mas to work?

As with Windows 10 on arm you do some trikly to run your old X86 based apps.
