Can someone recommend an easy home ethernet router I can use for my Fios connection. I suspect my 1GB Fios G3100 is having issues a few times per week and would like to troubleshoot via a hardwire home router for a few weeks to see if I notice increased stability. I would buy an Eero but I only use ethernet hardwired for my home office. Thus I am looking for a standard home Ethernet router that is reliable and has a good reputation.

So the one issue with what you said is that Ethernet is a protocol. Ethernet can be transmitted over copper wires, fibre optic cables or wirelessly via various protocols, including WiFi. (Ethernet occupies layer 1 and 2 of the [OSI 7 layers](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OSI_model).) Anyway, what I presume you want, since you said “hardwire”, is a router without any WiFi built in? If that’s the case, probably I would point you toward the “UBIQUITI ER-X Router” which is well under $100. Ubiquiti has a good reputation, although I don’t know it has a reputation for ease of use as I have never used one myself and I have heard people say they can be convoluted. A good second choice might be the TP-Link VPN router which is a similar price.

I use the Ubiquiti Unifi series and can only second the recommendation. I use the Unifi USG, but that is a little on the pricey side for your current needs.

Do you have TV through your FIOS? If so, you are stuck with the FIOS router.

Thank you very much for the recommendations. Out of frustration I purchased: **Linksys Business Dual WAN Gigabit VPN Router (LRT224)**…then I woke up and found out that AWS had an outage so my frustration level went down.
