Best source for Microsoft patching - errors, quality, etc - in the monthly releases

Hopefully this reaches Paul and Mary Jo…

What’s the best place to go online for problems resulting from the monthly MS patch drops?

I usually try and wait 2 weeks, but I still feel like I am rolling the dice on patch quality. Sometimes I hear about issues, but it’s inconsistent.

Since I am tech support for a dozen machines around the country, my family depends on me to keep their machines safe, secure and easy to use.

Any ideas are appreciated from the folks at large as well as Paul/Mary Jo.

Thanks in advance.

Good question. I’ll ask them tomorrow!

I keep an eye on a ton of info sources - probably the best to track Windows problems is https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/

My favourite site for keeping track of the risks is askwoody.com. Susan Bradley keeps track of all the patch side-effects and is very clued-up on the merits of patching for a business versus for a consumer system, plus there’s a knowledgeable community who contribute their experience. But if you want a deep dive into what’s broken and what’s under attack, nothing beats Leo’s recommendation of Bleeping Computer.
